Our story began (many fries and moons ago) in 1999 when we purchased “Shaiks Curry Den” from a family member. A husband and wife team quickly learned the ropes of the industry (and perfected it) and successfully started growing the business. At that time we had a staff compliment of just 4. In 2008, after many years of economic decline the famous Highgate shopping centre was forced to close it’s doors and tenants were thus left stranded. This was a blessing in disguise for us, as we were fortunate enough to ward off competition for a prime location just 500 m down the road.

Today “Shaiks Fast Foods and Curries”, has become a dynamic family run business and now thrives in our established home. Having built steady relationships with clients in the neighbouring communities of Riverlea, Bosmont, Fleurhof, Florida, Newlands, Pennyville, Noordgesig as well in the nearby industrial areas of Industria North and Stormill, Robertville and Lea glen, Langlaagte and Amalgam – we are growing in providing the best Halaal food service in the area.

We strive on customer service, good quality and value for money products. Having grown from 4 staff members we now boast a total staff compliment of 18!

Going from strength to strength especially in these trying economic times is a big achievement and is all attributed our family business model and most importantly to you, the customer!
